Odyssey Mega is the closest fresh-citrus clone we've put through a blind test. The orange-bergamot-ginger opening tracks YSL Y EDP almost identically. Where it differs is in the drydown — Mega leans slightly more synthetic in the cedar-musk base, and the tonka is a touch sweeter. But we're talking about differences you'd only catch in a side-by-side comparison with both on your wrists.

The performance is where Mega actually beats some batches of the original. 4–6 hours with legitimate projection for the first half. At $20–$35 on Amazon, you could buy five bottles for the price of one YSL Y and still have money left for lunch. If Y EDP is your daily office scent, there is genuinely no reason to keep paying full price.

Greenley is one of PdM's best fresh offerings — a photorealistic green apple with bergamot brightness and an oakmoss-amber base. At $240–$330, it's hard to justify as a daily fresh scent. French Avenue Aether Extrait gets most of the way there for $30–$45.

The opening is where Aether shines — the green apple note is crisp, natural, and nearly identical to Greenley. The drydown is where the gap shows: Aether leans more woody-synthetic where Greenley stays creamier and more refined. Longevity is inconsistent across batches — some bottles hit 5–6 hours, others tap out at 3-4. Letting a fresh bottle rest for 2-3 weeks after purchase tends to help.

Hawas is the fresh-fruity favorite that turned Rasasi into a household name — sweet apple and citrus over a salty marine accord, with a cinnamon-cardamom warmth that keeps it from going flat. It lives in the same fresh-aquatic lane as Rabanne Invictus, and for a lot of people it does the job better: fruitier, warmer, and more interesting than the designer.

At $25–$35 it's one of the best-value fresh scents on Amazon — strong projection, all-day longevity, and a genuine compliment magnet once the weather warms up. If you want the clean, sporty apple-and-marine vibe without a designer price, start here.

Sedley is PdM's minty fresh masterpiece — spearmint and bergamot with a creamy sandalwood base. Maahir Legacy captures that minty-citrus clarity at a fraction of the price.

The opening is where the accuracy is strongest — the mint-and-lime-grapefruit combination is bright, invigorating, and nearly interchangeable with Sedley. The base is where Maahir Legacy diverges from Sedley: ambroxan and vetiver over tonka instead of Sedley's creamy sandalwood, drier and slightly sharper. But for a $20–$35 daily fresh scent, the quality is remarkable.

Craze is one of the most faithful clones on this entire list. The Pegasus signature even includes a fizzy-soda sparkle in the opening — and Craze captures even that, which is the kind of detail that usually gets lost.

Pegasus sits in a unique space — it's fresh but sweet, with an almond-vanilla warmth underneath the bergamot brightness. It's the fresh cologne for guys who find pure citrus or aquatic scents too cold. Craze replicates that warm-fresh balance almost perfectly, and the performance is competitive with the original.

Bleu de Chanel is notoriously difficult to clone — the citrus oils Chanel uses are high quality and hard to replicate cheaply. Most BDC clones smell 'close but off' in a way that's immediately obvious. CDN Iconic is the closest the clone market has gotten — the grapefruit-mint-ginger opening is recognizably in BDC territory, and the incense-cedar drydown captures the sophistication that makes BDC special.

It's not perfect. The incense note in the original has a depth and smokiness that Iconic approximates but doesn't fully match. But at $35–$50 vs $90–$160, the gap in quality is much smaller than the gap in price.

Bad Boy Cobalt is one of the more interesting 'blue' fragrances — it takes the standard blue cologne DNA and adds an aromatic herbal twist with lavender and sage that gives it actual character. Shiyaaka Shadow captures that blue-aromatic profile for a fifth of the price.

This is the pick for the guy who's bored of smelling like every other blue cologne wearer but doesn't want to venture into niche territory. The lavender-up-front opening and cedar-cashmere heart give it just enough differentiation to be interesting without being weird. Still workplace safe.
