Parfums de Marly
Habdan EDP
“Saffron and myrrh in the dark — mysterious, unhurried, and not trying to impress anyone.”

PDM's foray into the Middle Eastern incense-amber category and one of the original Royal Essence collection releases — Guillaume Flavigny's 2013 launch for Parfums de Marly. An amber-saffron-spicy unisex fragrance with saffron and olibanum at the top, an apple-woody-rose heart, and a myrrh-caramel-ambergris base. Performs strongest in fall and winter, leans evening, lasts 9–10 hours with strong projection.
The take
What works
- ●Saffron and myrrh combo delivers genuine Middle Eastern luxury
- ●Caramel base lands sweet without tipping into dessert-cologne territory
- ●Cold-weather gender-fluid wear — far too heavy for warm months
- ●Excellent longevity and sillage for the concentration
Trade-offs
- ●Niche audience — the resinous incense direction won't win converts
- ●Similar profile to stronger PdM offerings at the same price
